About Our Concept

We believe that when remarkable people spend quality time together, in the great outdoors at high elevation in the mountains of Aspen, that amazing and wonderful things can happen!  We believe that you can never have enough extraordinary friends and that we are even Better Together!

The four Vagabonds: Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, John Burroughs, and Harvey Firestone. Henry Ford Museum; Henry Ford Foundation.

Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of The ‘Four Vagabonds’ last road trip.

For 10 years, each summer between 1914 to 1924, four iconic leaders — Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone and John Burroughs — glamped into the American wilderness each summer.

The Vagabonds developed close and deep friendships, encouraged each other, collaborated together such that each of their endeavors thrived.

Ultimately, they individually changed the World and together accelerated and amplified that change. They were Better Together!

Today we know that diverse team members boost innovation. Imagine what we can do when we are together in Aspen this September!

Meet the Founder Patrina Eiffert, PhD

In her third act, MAKE IT BETTER Founder, Patrina Eiffert, inspired by the Vagabonds, has committed to creating a social space for changemakers to gather, renew, and collaborate. This space is our gathering, BETTER TOGETHER, where we give first and collaborate with an open heart.

Having grown up in a Chicago neighborhood of Italian, immigrant entrepreneurs, making it better is embedded in her DNA. Patrina grew up in a time in American history when the culture was shaped by inspirational acts and aspirational beliefs such as the Moonshot and . . .

“Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country” John F Kennedy

“I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.” Martin Luther King

“There comes a time when all the cosmic tumblers have clicked into place and the Universe opens itself up for a few seconds to show you what is possible.” Terence Mann

This ‘Can Do’ culture, is indelibly inked upon every fiber of her being. Patrina’s new endeavor is a social experiment, MAKE IT BETTER, with an aim to connect and serve a community of world changing CEOs, investors, technologists, and innovators via adventure retreats in Aspen, Colorado.
